Middle School Practice is off and running.
Spotlight on Coach Rodney Miller
Our first spotlight of the year is
on new Assistant Football Coach Rodney Miller. Rodney was born and
raised in Tyler, attended John Tyler High School, So
uthwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, and graduated
from Texas College in Tyler. He received his degr
ee in Elementary Education and has spent his career
working with young kids. He has always enjoyed work
ing with children and hopes to be a positive role
model for those children who dont have one in their
lives. Rodney currently teaches Head Start at Dixie
Elementary in Tyler.
As a football player, Rodney was a linebacker in college
as well as in the semi-pro league with the Wichita
Warriors. At Southwestern, he was an all-district an
d all-conference player as well as a two-time All Ameri-
can in the NAIA league. He was also na
med the SC Football Player of the Year.
Rodneys coaching career began as
a Linebacker Coach and Defensive
Coordinator position with the Wich-
ita Warriors, followed by a Head Coach position for th
e semi-pro Wichita Tigers and a Special Teams Coor-
dinator position with the Wichita Warlords arena football

Ladies of the Guard
Football Forum
Coach Jim Klaczak, Head Football
Coach of The Brook Hill School along
with the Guard coaching staff will host
the first annual Ladies of the Guard
Football Forum on Friday September 5th
at 6PM at Herrington Stadium. This
camp is designed especially for all moms,
sisters, aunts and women of the Guard,
and will teach participants the ins and
outs of football. Come join us on the
field. Learn to be a wide receiver. Un-
derstand the meaning of a draw play ,
a halfback pass and a 48 sweep.
Participants will move from station to
station just as in a varsity football prac-
tice, learning the various blocking and
passing schemes. Subjects to be covered
will include equipment, officials signals,
and position responsibilities.
Registration begins at 5:30PM at the
main gate of the stadium. The forum
begins at 6PM. Participants should wear
workout apparel and tennis shoes for ac-
tive participation.
Food, drink and a camp t-shirt will be pro-
vided. Registration fee is $25. Participants
must be over 16 years old.
